Support Cooper at Naf Naf Grill on 2/15!

Zone PTA Update - Week of 1/31/22

  • To keep the Fair Funding for CHPS in the forefront, it was decided that we will focus on Governor Murphy until his budget address at the end of February. Using a new "Tuesday Tweet" tactic, we will ask Cherry Hill parents, teachers and citizens to tweet to the Gov to think of Cherry Hill in his budget planning. Please tweet @GovMurphy with short, supportive statements for fair funding for Cherry Hill schools. They should be sent out Feb 1, 8, 15 and 22. Let's make sure he knows we're watching how he spends the education dollars this year. Encourage him to make it equitable for us and the underfunded districts.

  • Middle School Redistricting Town Hall

  • District Improvement Plan

  • NEW Cub Scout pack starting up in Cherry Hill!  Cub Scout Pack 166 will have their first meeting on February 24 at 6:30pm at Horace Mann Elementary School. Click on this link for the flyer Cub Scout Pack 166

  • Available Online: Recording of Parent Webinar on How Social Media Affects Mental Health The presentation  "Untangling the Web: How Social Media Affects Mental Health," presented by Thrive Alliance Group on January 18, 2022 offers an understanding around the impact of social media on children establishing healthy boundaries with technology.

Zone Social Media:

  • Please follow the Zone Facebook and Twitter accounts and share information to your school communities throughout these ever changing times.

Here is our TENTATIVE AGENDA. Please let us know if you'd like to discuss anything in particular!

Please see the links in the above agenda for the JANUARY MINUTES and the STANDING RULES that need to be approved Wednesday. The standing rules document was shared with you in previous meetings. If there are any comments/concerns/suggestions, please reach out before the meeting so they can be addressed. Suggestions will be added in italics in a different color to discuss at the meeting.

Links for other handouts will be active by the morning of the meeting.

CALL FOR A NOMINATING COMMITTEE

We need at least 3 people to nominate themselves to serve on the nominating committee on Wednesday. We also need 1 back up. Would YOU be interested?

Nutshell of Responsibilities: Committee members will have an initial meeting with the President (me) to discuss logistics of the committee and I will share the documents you will need to conduct your work, you will review the membership roster and application forms for the President and Treasurer role together, actively seek out applications, confidentially discuss the best candidate for the role, and present a slate of 2 people for the available roles (1 for Treasurer and 1 for President) to the board. Elections will be in 2 months. The nominating committee can consist of any PTA member except the President, during deliberations. Members on the committee CAN also apply for a role that is available, they would just remove themselves from the discussion of the role they are seeking.

If you have any questions about serving on this committee, please ask. Elections will take place in April, as long as no scheduling issues arise.

NOTE FOR PTA VOLUNTEERS

All volunteers will soon be receiving an e-mail asking to confirm their availability for various committees needed from now until June. Your response would be appreciated after you receive this note.

As always, please check our website, http://jfcooperpta.blogspot.com for updates and information from the Cherry Hill Zone PTA regarding happenings within our school district.

Thank you for your attention!!
