Staff Appreciation Week 2025

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

May 5 - May 9, 2025

“We can travel the world, but we know it’s true,

there is no other staff quite like you!”

Dear Cooper Families & Students,

We are planning a fun-filled international and travel themed week for staff at Cooper!!

See the schedule in your child's backpack on Thursday or click here.

Posters

We would love to decorate the hallways with posters made by students and parents.

Can you help by sending some to the office?

Posters can include drawings related to travel, a country’s flag, sayings in different languages

(with translations), thank you messages, and inspirational quotes.

Sample messages: “There is no other teacher in the world like you!” “Thank you for all you do!”

“Cooper Staff are the best!” “Our teachers are first class!” Feel free to be creative!

Printables

Here are some links to travel and international themed printables if your child

would like to color a page, write a letter, write a poem, use a gift tag, etc.

{ Coming Soon }

Donations (Monetary, Food, Snacks, and Paper Products)

In addition to using PTA hospitality funds, we need some help from families.

See the sign up link to donate and help us out

If you could take a moment to copy and paste these email addresses and shoot a note similar to the one below out to request Fair Funding for Cherry Hill Public Schools on Fridays or any other day, that would be appreciated. If people who have the time can make calls as well that would be a plus. If you would like a printable copy of the numbers and e-mails below, please click here.

Suggested Script from the Fair Funding Committee

Hi, my name is (insert YOUR name) and I am a proud resident of Cherry Hill. I am calling/writing to tell you that just because the governor has proposed it, doesn’t make it a good budget.

Cherry Hill needs your help to ensure our funding doesn’t continue to fluctuate from one year to the next. A decrease in funding from the state doesn’t help the $200 million WE lost while trying to reach full funding. Our Governor touted fully funding public education in his budget address, yet Cherry Hill received another cut! Hold the Governor accountable and change the budget to give Cherry Hill the money it rightfully deserves and hasn’t received in our 20+ years of underfunding.

Advocacy: Phone Call/Email Fridays

**A note from Illana Yares - District Fair Funding Chair**

Please see the below flier for Phone Call/Email Friday. It is already shared on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

We are changing our messaging slightly because we don't want to be here year after year and want the legislators to take action now to set Cherry Hill up for sustained fair funding in the future.

We will be focusing our efforts on communicating with the Senate President and Assembly Speaker as well as our local legislators to hold the Governor accountable for touting fully funding education.

Always copy fairfundingchps@gmail.com on all emails so we can track correspondence.

If you have any additional suggestions of what we should be doing as a committee, I am welcome to hear them so that we can put our best foot forward and work to ensure that the students benefit from increased funding.

STEAM Fair - Family Station Sign Ups

National PTA’s STEM + Families initiative provides fun, hands-on experiences that allow elementary and middle school students to learn alongside their parents and caregivers. Our programs reinforce the value of family support for education while introducing new ideas, important skills and career possibilities related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

This year, we would like to incorporate this initiative into our STEAM Fair. Students will be given the opportunity to both explore topics of their own choosing, or any of the topics below.

If your family is interested in hosting one of the following stations, please sign up here:

https://evite.me/cQJzqZS3aD

A separate form will be sent home to those choosing to do their own experiments, research, and art around STEM topics.
