Cherry Hill Zone PTA Update - Week of 3/8/21

  • The Fair Funding Committee met on 2/25/21. The meeting came on the heels of the numbers being released by the state.  The Cherry Hill School District will receive $24,698,590 for 2021-2022. That’s a 26.4% increase over last year!  Great work by the Dr. Meloche, BOE and Fair Funding committee! But the work is not done and we have a long way to go!  We had a fantastic turnout with strong representation from all school levels, district administration, BOE, CHEA and community members at large.  We need to continue involving parents and community members and increase our voices to the State!

ACTION NEEDED: The Fair Funding committee agreed that as a community we should thank our local legislators for their support.  The PTA Presidents have been sent a separate email asking them to send a thank you letter to our local legislators Senator James Beach, Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, and Assemblyman Louis Greenwald via postal mail or email.  The letter should be shared with each school community for their own customization and mailing.  The more parental support the better.  We are a community of 10,000+ students and we should be heard accordingly.

The Districts that have had strong community support are the most successful in maintaining their Fair Funding.  Fair Funding for CHPS website & Fair Funding for CHPS Facebook page provide a wonderful education on Fair Funding in the state and Cherry Hill.

The next Fair Funding Committee is Thursday March 25th at 7:00pm via Zoom.  The committee meets the last Thursday of every month during the school year.
