Zone PTA Update - Week of 3/15/21

ZONE update:

  • The Zone PTA Exec Board will be meeting with Dr. Meloche virtually on Tuesday April 6, 2021.  If you have any questions you would like us to ask Dr. Meloche, please submit all inquiries before 12:00PM Friday March 26, 2021.

  • Please continue to share the word about Fair Funding! We need to increase awareness regarding Fair Funding for CHPS! Here are some simple actions that can be done to keep the momentum going!

  1. Education on why Fair Funding is so important! Refer to recent press regarding Evesham School District’s proposed measures to compensate for a 16% cut in their State Funding.

  2. Parents should continue  to send those Thank You letters to our State Legislators. See attached documents.

  3. It’s all in the way you say it.  We have all heard people say “we have lost out on $140 million in Fair Funding”.  That statement would be much more impactful if expressed as “we have lost out on $140 million in facility maintenance.”  Same number of words but what a difference in application.

  4. Familiarize yourself with the District budget and decision-making process.  At last week’s BOE meeting, there was a budget presentation by Lynn Shugars of the preliminary budget. It begins at about the 2 minutes mark.  The budget discussion begins at 3:12:49 with the Business & Facilities portion of the agenda and lasts about 2 hours video of March 9, 2021 BOE Meeting

  5. Share the Fair Funding for CHPS website & Fair Funding for CHPS Facebook page  with other parents.

  6. Attend Fair Funding Committee meetings! The committee meets the last Thursday of every month during the school year.  The next meeting  is Thursday March 25th at 7:00pm via Zoom.

  • A reminder to our school community to follow the COVID-19 checklist guidelines

    • Report to the nurse if student or any household member tests positive for COVID, or if they have an actual or suspected COVID exposure;

    • Keep student home when they are sick;

    • Promptly pick student up if they become sick at school;

    • Alert the school nurse about any planned travel to discuss the required post-quarantine guideline, prior to sending student back to school;

    • Questions or concerns, reach out to school nurse for guidance.

    • Stay apprised of the CDC guidelines for travel and exposure/close contact
