Yearbooks have shipped!

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that yearbooks are on their way and the kids should have them on Wednesday. 

We also have 1 yearbook left to sell on hand. If you'd like it, please reach out. Anyone who wishes to order a yearbook after that one is sold can do so via TreeRing and have it shipped home.

It's not too late to get a yearbook!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

TreeRing plants 1 tree for every yearbook purchased, and so far at least 93 trees will be planted!! 

Yearbooks are scheduled to arrive by the last day of school. Updates will be on the PTA website.


If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, we do have 6 extra. Please reserve your copy by sending an email to yearbook@jfcooperpta.org and send in a check to the main office for $19 made out to J.F. Cooper PTA with “Yearbook” in the memo line. Please make sure you provide your child’s name and teacher’s name.


If we run out of extra copies, we will let you know. In that case, you can order directly from the TreeRing website (anytime) and it will be shipped to your home.

The PTA advertises the yearbook from September through June on our website and via newsletters. If you did not create a TreeRing account this year, please consider it for next year. TreeRing has a very user-friendly app and website so your family can contribute easily. It also helps everyone keep on schedule by sending reminders.


To our returning Cooper families, our next yearbook will be on sale starting in August of 2022. There will be an early bird discount in September and October as always.

Financial Review Committee - Appointed Members and Info

Dear PTA Members,

At the June 1st general PTA meeting, the following PTA members were appointed to the Financial Review Committee:

  • Leamsy Cruz
  • Partha Sarathi
  • Diane Sharple
  • Karen Singletary

As per the suggested timeline given by NJ PTA, we are aiming to have the books and bank statements reviewed in July, after the fiscal year ends on June 30th.


Prior to the Financial Review Committee conducting their review, the President and Treasurer are to prepare the end of fiscal year report and reconciliation and fill out their portion of the Financial Review. They also will prepare all materials for the Financial Review Committee.


Once the Financial Review Committee conducts its review, the outgoing Treasurer will provide a completed Financial Review to the incoming Board. The Treasurer also files the 990 tax form via File990.org.


By August 1st the Treasurer transition should be complete. The new Treasurer will start work on the 2022-2023 Year.


At the first 2022-2023 PTA General Membership Meeting, we will present the Budget, Financial Review, and Standing Rules to General Membership for approval, and then upload to the compliance tab in MemberHub for storage and for NJPTA to assist board members in the future.

How the Committee is Appointed

The president shall appoint, subject to the approval of the board of directors, a financial review committee consisting of not less than three members, who are not authorized signers.


Members of the financial review committee shall not be the current president, treasurer, secretary, or be related by blood or marriage and shall not reside in the same household as the authorized signers.


For the financial review required at the end of the fiscal year, the president shall appoint the financial review committee at the last membership meeting of the year.

A financial review examines all financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are properly documented and conforms with the approved budget and the PTA's governing documents.


A financial review is required, at least annually, at the end of the fiscal year. The review should also be performed:


  • when any authorized check signer is added or deleted on any bank account; and
  • at any time deemed necessary by the president or three or more members.


Committee information and discussions are confidential; therefore, meetings should be conducted in a private location and only include appointed committee members.


The committee may contact the outgoing Treasurer and outgoing President for any clarification required, all findings should remain confidential until the report is delivered.

J.F. Cooper PTA Update - Week of 6/5/22

 Reminders:

  • The Pushcart Players will be visiting our school on Monday, June 6 for a performance of "Stone Soup & Other Stories" for students - we are so excited to be sponsoring this performance!
  • Field Day is Tuesday, June 7. Volunteers that signed up on our Sign Up Genius page should report at 8:45am.
  • End of Year Parties are on June 15 from 1:45-3pm. Room parents are busy planning for the festivities!
  • The Yearbook was submitted for publication last week. Thank you to all of the staff members and families that submitted photos to make our yearbook special. If you would still like to order a yearbook, please send in a check for $19 made payable to J.F. Cooper PTA in an envelope marked "PTA Yearbook" or login to your TreeRing account.   • Room parents should reach out to the class prior to the party to let parents know what plans are for the funds that have been submitted. Food lists for the party were due to Mrs. Fleischmann on June 1st so she has enough time to reach out to class parents for approval before the event. 
  • Thank you to those that supported our fundraisers at Friendly's and Youcha Cafe! We'll be planning some more dine out fundraisers for the 2022-2023 school year!
